I’m in my late thirties now and I have realised that most of the things I do now are not the things I’m most passionate about.
There are things I do because I saw someone else do it in the past and it seemed to be fun. Then there are some things I do, solely because I was not allowed to it when younger. Then most painfully, there are things I liked to do once, that I do no enjoy as much anymore for whatever reason.
Once I finished classifying my hobbies and habits into these buckets and pruned them, I’m left with a couple of things at best that I actually want to do. I’m calling this a habit detox and I hope my time is better spent as a result.
